Summer Sailstice - June 21

Each year Torresen Marine sponsors a series of free seminars during March and April. The events are specifically designed to help sailors get the most out of the sport. For 2008 the seminars will be on Saturdays starting March 15 and continue on March 22, 29 and April 5.

- April 12 - New for 2008 Boating Safety Learning lessons from Lake Michigan Boating Stories
Retired Coast Guard Senior Chief Tom Rau is a syndicated Coast Guard boating safety columnist and author of Boat Smart Chronicles, Lake Michigan Devours Its Wounded. During his presentation he will share many experiences as a rescue responder and writer dealing with less than smart boating behavior. His many stories highlighted by spectacular photos will provoke laughter and tears. Whether funny or sad, all offer valuable lessons learned. One of those hard-earned lessons addresses the recent sailboat mishap that claimed three lives at Calumet Harbor, Chicago.
