Today's Sailing NewsMatch Racing: Bermuda Gold CupFor the 6th time Russell
Coutts has won the Bermuda Gold Cup match racing event. He and
his typical crew of Brad Butterworth, Warwick Fluery and Simon Daubney
beat fellow New Zealander Chris Dickson in the final 3-0. The finals
were sailed in testing 6-8 knot winds. About the finals, Dickson
said: "Across the board they were starting better, sailing
better, sailing the boat quicker than anyone." In the semis Coutts and team now sailing for Ernesto Bertarelli's Swiss Challenge beat Ed Baird's team 3-1. For the event Coutts' team went 12-2. Dickson defeated Australian James Spithill in the semis. Baird later defeated Spithill in a match for 3rd place. Final standings and prize money are as follows: 1. Russell Coutts (Switzerland) -
