(C)update:  Race 1 outlook X 2

Race 1 of the Challenger's final series was postponed due to excesses of wind and waves.  This means today is try # 2 at Race 1. 

Will the wind remain under the 18 knot's it can't exceed?  Will the seas be of the non boat breaking type?

The answers are yes and yes.  Forecasts call for SW winds of 10-15 knots moving to the south @ 15 and then dieing to Se @ 5.  The seas are forecast to be slight.

Current conditions in Auckland show a light breeze from a direction of South West by west.  It seems that if anything a lack of wind will be today's problem.

Miami Olympic Classes Outlook

Anytime you check weather in Miami Florida and the term wind chill advisory is involved you have one of two situations.  One it's the forecast for Miami Ohio, or it's just a plain unusual situation.

In this case it's the second as Miami Florida is currently unusually cool.  At 0900 temperature read 51°. 

However, the Olympic class sailors will get to compete on warm water with good winds.  The sea temperature reading is 72.5°.  Winds are expected to begin in the 20 knot range and decrease to 10-15 knots.  Direction is expected to be westerly.

One Hemisphere's winter is another's summer

A check of weather in Antarctica which is currently experiencing it's summer shows that temperatures are in 33° to 35° range.

A check in Muskegon home of Sailing Daily shows 19°.
