75th Bayview Mac Race Tomorrow will see the start of the 75th edition of the
Bayview to Mac Race. This is the races diamond anniversary! Many of the same boats that just completed the Chicago
Mac have sailed down Lake Huron to take another shot The Bayview features racing under 2 handicapping
systems, and also features 2 courses. The difference in the courses The Cove Island course will feature a solid fleet of
boats. Again the Great Lakes 70's fleet will race under IMS. 12 J-120's will race boat for boat in PHRF Class C. In Class F J-35's and T-35's will race on a level basis. The 60 foot catamaran Stars and Strips will take aim at
setting new Port Huron to Mac Course records. The outright record was set in 1985 by
Jan Gougeon on a trimaran in a time of 1 days 2 hours and 9 minutes- an average of 9.96
knots. The big monohulls can shoot for the record held by the Reichel Pugh maxi
Windquest. The time for the Current forecasts call for southwest winds of 10-20
