Beginning and intermediate sailors can learn the fundamentals of sailing and fine points of sail trim with the Sailing Dynamics Instructor. As you build your skills, progress to racing basics and detailed sail shaping. Your sailboat responds realistically in variable altitude 360 degree Roving Eye graphics.

For sailors who race The Instructor is a good pre-season training device.  You can brush up on sail trim and boat handling, and the 2005 - 2008 Racing Rules.

The Instructor includes Tutorials, a Sailing Simulator and a Racing Simulator.  Fifteen different difficulty levels, along with variable wind conditions allow you to increase the challenge as you learn. 

Boat Types Choose from: Optimist Prams, Tornado Catamarans, 49er skiffs, 1 and 2 person dinghies, keelboats, cruising sloops and offshore racing boats.  Specify length, displacement, sail area, and rig for keelboats, cruising sloops, and offshore racers and tiller or wheel steering for the latter two boats. 

In the Sailing Simulator practice steering, beating, docking, mooring, ship avoidance, man-overboard and other boat handling skills.  Use boat behavior, the Coach's feedback and skill score to judge your progress. 

In the Racing Simulator practice in a 4 boat fleet of your choice.  Then move to a 10 boat fleet.   Select triangle or windward/leeward courses.  Use feedback from the Instant Justice Protest committee. 

Opponent Artificial Intelligence:   All racing opponent know tactics, strategy, racing rules and how to sail their boat.  Opponent expertise increases with difficulty level.  

Manual:  Covers beginner's sailing basics, racing fundamentals, advanced topics such as windshift strategy, heavy weather sailing and more.
